The AIME RS724 is a rackable GPU workstation based on the ASUS RS720A-E12 barebone. It is configurable with two high performance latest generation EPYC CPUs and up to two high end NVIDIA GPUs. Packed into a dense form factor of two height units the AIME RS724 offers:

AIME RS724 - Rack GPU Workstation with Dual EPYC CPU

If you are looking for a rackable GPU workstation with maximum CPU performance, the AIME RS724 rack server is a highly performant and efficient solution.

The AIME RS724 is configurable with up to two of the most advanced GPUs for performing demanding GPU HPC workloads.

It is powered by two of AMD latest EPYC™ 9004 CPUs based on 5nm technology: the Genoa and Bergamo processor generation. The two CPUs can be configured with up to 128 cores which results in a total of 512 available parallel CPU threads.

Up to 3 TB DDR5 Memory

The RS724 can be configured with up to 24 memory modules, which makes an affordable 1.5 TB memory configuration with 24x 64 GB DDR5 modules possible. For highest memory requirements: a 3 TB main memory configuration with 24x 128 GB DDR5 memory modules is available.

With DDR5 memory highest data transfer rates between CPU, storage and sub system are achieved.

The available 128 PCI 5.0 lanes of the AMD EPYC CPUs allow highest interconnect and data transfer rates between the CPUs, GPUs, memory and NVMe storage.

The RTX ™ 6000 Ada is built on the latest NVIDIA GPU architecture: Ada Lovelace. It is the direct succesor of the RTX A6000 and the Quadro RTX 6000. The RTX 6000 Ada combines 568 fourth-generation Tensor Cores, and 18.176 next-gen CUDA® cores with 48GB of graphics memory for unprecedented rendering, AI, graphics, and compute performance.

Up to 2x NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada 32GB

The RTX ™ 5000 Ada is built on the latest NVIDIA GPU architecture: Ada Lovelace. It is the direct succesor of the RTX A5500. The RTX 5000 Ada combines 400 fourth-generation Tensor Cores, and 12.800 next-gen CUDA® cores with 32GB of graphics memory for a high rendering, AI, graphics, and compute performance.

Up to 2x NVIDIA RTX 4500 Ada 24GB

The RTX ™ 4500 Ada is built on the latest NVIDIA GPU architecture: Ada Lovelace. It is the direct succesor of the RTX A5000 and the Quadro RTX 5000. The RTX 5000 Ada combines 240 fourth-generation Tensor Cores, and 7.680 next-gen CUDA® cores with 24GB of graphics memory. With its 210 Watts power consumption it is a convincing rendering, AI, graphics, and compute performance card.

Up to 4x NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada 20GB

The RTX ™ 4000 Ada is built on the latest NVIDIA GPU architecture: Ada Lovelace. It is the direct successor of the RTX A4000. The RTX 4000 Ada combines 192 fourth-generation Tensor Cores, and 6.144 next-gen CUDA® cores with 20GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. With its 130 Watts power consumption it is a very efficient rendering, AI inference, graphics, and compute card.

Up to 4x NVIDIA RTX A6000 48GB

The NVIDIA RTX A6000 is the Ampere-based successor to the NVIDIA Quadro series. It features the same GPU processor (GA-102) as the RTX 3090, but all cores of the GA-102 processor enabled. It outperforms the RTX 3090 with its 10752 CUDA and 336 Gen 3 Tensor cores. Equipped with 48 GB GDDR6 ECC, twice the amount of GPU memory compared to the predecessor of the Quadro RTX 6000 and the RTX 3090. It is best suited for memory demanding tasks which need sufficient compute performance.

Up to 2x NVIDIA RTX A5000 24GB

With its 8.192 CUDA and 256 Tensor cores of the 3rd generation, the NVIDIA RTX A5000 is similair powerful than a RTX 3090. However, with its 230 watts of power consumption and 24 GB of memory, it is a more efficient accelerator card and especially for inference tasks the RTX A5000 is a very interesting option.

Up to 4x NVIDIA RTX A4000 16GB

With its 6.144 CUDA and 192 3rd generation Tensor cores, the NVIDIA RTX A4000 is a powerful GPU in a very small form factor. With its 16 GB of memory, it is a very efficient CPU accelerator card, especially for AI inference and rendering tasks.

All NVIDIA GPUs are supported by NVIDIA’s CUDA-X AI SDK, including cuDNN, TensorRT which power nearly all popular deep learning frameworks.

8 x NVME SSDs for more then 100 TB High Performance Storage

Beside M.2 NVMe slots for booting the operating system, the RS724 provides 8 NVMe capable drive bays which each can be equipped with up to 15.36 TB SSDs totaling to a raw SSD storage capacity of 107 TB.

Due to the high bandwidth provided by the NVMe SSDs and direct PCI attachment to the EPYC CPU, the performance of NVMe SSDs does scale best with a CPU based software RAID. We recommend the ZFS file system: it provides RAID 0/1/5/6/10 compatible mirroring, stripping with RAIDZ1 and RAIDZ2 levels providing volume encryption, Direct IO (DIO) and Copy on Write (COW) capabilities for data security, scalability and highest storage performance.

High Connectivity and Management Interface

With the available up to 400 Gbit/s OSFP network option the RS724 can take on the role as the central data server on the LAN for serving, preprocessing and receiving fast amounts of data.

The AIME RS724 is completely manageable with ASMB11-iKVM, built upon the ASPEED 2600 chipset, which provides various interfaces to enable out-of-band server management through WebGUI, Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) and Redfish® API.

This makes a successful integration of the AIME RS724 into a larger server clusters an ease.

The AIME RS724 offers energy efficiency with 1+1 redundant titanium power supplies, which enable long time fail-safe operation.

ASUS servers achieved most power efficiency positions on the SPEC Power benchmark for energy efficiency.
